World Peace Café

Drop in to Madhyamaka Centre’s World Peace Café- the only vegetarian and organic café for miles!

The café offers delicious light meals and home baked yummy cakes. Snuggle up inside next to the wood burning stove with a cappuccino or hot chocolate, or sit outside on the terrace with a smoothie and enjoy the beautiful scenery.

There’s acres of woodland and parkland to explore after your visit to the café, or simply relax in the gardens and enjoy a lazy afternoon. There’s plenty of space for kids to play and dogs are welcome if kept on a lead.

Finish with a browse in our gift shop, displaying fairtrade and unique goods.

Whether stopping off for a cake and coffee, arranging a day trip to Kilnwick Percy Hall, or planning a bikers pit stop, we would be very happy to cater for you. If you would like to visit the café with a group of 6 or more people, please ring or email in advance to ensure we can fit you in and feed you!

All profits go to Madhyamaka Kadampa Buddhist Centre a registered charity dedicated to providing public services, such as being a regional Buddhist Resource, and to the upkeep of Kilnwick Percy Hall and grounds allowing the public to continue to enjoy the tranquil environment and historical building.

Volunteer Opportunities

The success of the World Peace Cafe depends upon the kindness of volunteers.

At present we have volunteers who keep our cafe up and running by helping with cleaning, serving in the cafe, cooking, maintenance and gardening. The cafe is always looking for people to add to its team. If you have an interest in helping then please contact Shonét via email or just pop in, to discuss the possibilities.

At present we are looking for a reliable and enthusiastic person to help serve in the cafe on a Sunday. Full training would be given.
