In this inspiring book, Eight Steps to Happiness, Geshe Kelsang Gyatso explains how to meditate on eight beautiful verses that comprise one of Buddhism’s best-loved teachings, Eight Verses for Training the Mind. Composed by the great Tibetan Bodhisattva, Geshe Langri Tangpa, this short poem shows how we can transform all life’s difficulties into valuable spiritual insights. Join the Foundation Programme as we study this profound book page-by-page to deepen our experience of compassion and wisdom.

If you wish to deepen your experience of Buddha’s teachings and find meaning and lasting happiness in your modern life, you will enjoy the Foundation Program (FP).The Foundation Program is one of the three study programs taught in the New Kadampa Tradition that was founded by the renowned meditation master, Geshe Kelsang Gyatso. Joining FP involves enrolling for a section of the book and trying to attend all the classes, one of which is an end-of-term exam. Each class consists of prayers, a guided meditation, teaching and discussion. You are welcome to attend a class before enrolling, and you can join at any time. The class fee is £35 per month, which entitles you to attend all the classes and courses at Madhyamaka Kadampa Meditation Centre and its branches.

The class is taught by Gen Kelsang Thekchen, Resident Teacher at Madhyamaka KMC, who teaches with a warmth and lightness that is naturally inspiring.
There are some commitments involved in the programme, please contact Education Programme Coordinator, epc@madhyamaka.org, for further information.
