In this series we’ll explore the subject of confidence.  We will investigate how to develop confidence and courage by changing our perspective.

As a society we have learnt to build our self-confidence on an exaggerated foundation of self-importance.  In reality, this kind of self-confidence is very fragile and when the bubble of self-importance bursts, it easily leads us to low self-confidence or even self-hatred.   We therefore need to take time to consider other qualities to base our self-confidence and self-esteem on.  Bodhisattvas, compassionate friends of the world, have tremendous self-confidence based on their understanding of their inner potential, their compassion for others and their faith in virtuous minds and virtuous deeds.
